The Yuba-Sutter RV-12iS Student Build Team’s RV-12iS flew for the first time. Here’s more:

For the past several years, high school students from the Yuba City/Marysville area of Northern California have been working together to build a Vans RV-12iS aircraft. Although the program was paused during the COVID-19 pandemic, we returned to the project with renewed determination to see it through.

On the morning of June 13, 2026, students, mentors, families, and community members gathered to watch the airplane take flight for the first time. The test flight went exactly as planned, with the aircraft performing exceptionally well and without any issues.
