George Fahmy’s RV-7 | Morgan Hill, CA (E16) RV-7 #74493

George Fahmy’s RV-7 flew for the first time. Here’s more:

After a 10 year journey, I finally flew N890GF for the first time. With my wonderful ground crew (my family) on the radio, and on the cameras, I performed a normal takeoff. When I climbed up to 900 ft, the engine stumbled and lost power (down to 40%). I made a call on the radio and decided to turn back. I had the speed and altitude to make a tear drop turn back to the airport for my best ever downwind landing.

Overall, the plane flew amazingly well, which made making the decision to turn back much easier. I’m thankful that I’m able to make this report, and that I’ve since fixed the issue (debris in the injectors). Next flight will be less eventful.

Thanks to my wonderful wife for supporting me on this adventure, to my one-year-old son, who hopefully will fly this plane one day, and to my whole family for the support over the years.
