Brian Berryhill’s RV-14A | Marion, NC RV-14A #140926

Brian Berryhill flew his RV-14A for the first time. Here’s more:

After losing my Cessna 182 when the airport flooded during Hurricane Helene, I purchased the kit partially assembled by another builder. He already had all kits except the firewall forward and already had an engine/prop. Immediately after taking delivery, I ordered avionics from Advanced and interior from Classic Aero, expecting the lead times to fall within build speed and eliminate down times. My situation allowed for six hours a day weekly and as long as I wanted on weekends to be devoted to the build. I am certainly not a professional painter, but it turned out OK.

I currently have 14 hours on the airplane working through phase one, and it sure is a sweetheart to fly. Thanks Van’s!
