David and Evelyn Harris’s RV-12iS flew for this first time. Here’s more on the project and flight:

N912EH, a Vans RV-12iS, had her first flight on Monday. My daughter Evelyn, a senior Aeronautical Science major at Embry-Riddle in Prescott, came out to be the test pilot.

All systems were normal. She emerged with the RV Grin. As compared to our RV-7A, she said it is slower but handles great and is just as much fun.

This project started in our garage during COVID and involved over 100 students from Harvey Mudd College over the past six years. Many said that building an airplane was one of the most memorable parts of their college experience.
