Wes Hewitt’s RV-10 | Kokomo, IN RV-10 #42036

Wes Hewitt’s RV-10 flew for the first time. Here’s more:

Today, years of hard work paid off and N837EL took its first flight! Thank you so much to my friend Ryan Allen (three-time builder) for piloting the first flight. The airplane flew great minus a little lower oil pressure than we would have liked. That is already fixed and ready for the next flight.

This was an amazing journey, with an amazing kit (thank you, Van’s!). I’m so grateful to be able to have this opportunity. There are two men I wish could have witnessed this flight today. My late grandfather who was my CFII and life long mentor. According to his logs, he introduced me to flying when I was 3-weeks-old in a twin Comanche. I literally have no memory without aviation in my life. The second is Bob Japundza. Many of the people that will read this knew him or had some interaction with him. He was always there for me throughout my build. He was taken from us much too soon and I will miss him dearly.
